SHARED DECISION MAKING (SDM)
The CITE shared decision-making tool is designed to help clinicians integrate SDM into everyday care.
It provides a structured yet flexible approach to navigating clinical decisions in partnership with patients
The tool outlines key practices for effective SDM:
-
Recognizing and acknowledging when a decision is required
-
Communicating the best available evidence clearly and accurately
-
Incorporating the patient’s values, goals, and preferences into the decision process
In addition to the tool, CITE has created a short demonstration video illustrating how SDM principles can be applied in real-world clinical encounters.
